Challenge

The goal was to improve and increase social media engagement, organic search, and website traffic.

Approach

First, we studied the data. We dug deeply into our analytics and focused on engagement instead of the amount of traffic and and number of likes. We studied Smart College Visit’s Facebook Insights, Twitter and Google Analytics.

Next, we focused on content. We conducted and SEO analysis, updated our content, and developed a content planning calendar for website articles and social media publishing.

In 2017, we launched a new website design and a bi-monthly newsletter.

Results

Website Sessions: 15% increase | Unique Users: 8% increase (55,000) | Pageviews: 74% increase (185,000)
Organic Search 21% increase (currently 61% of traffic comes from organic search)
Direct: 58% increase
Email: 15% increase (we implemented a bi-monthly newsletter, CampusChat, in January of 2017)
Facebook as a traffic driver: 28% increase in web traffic coming from Facebook
